Welcome to The Milk Bottle Challenge

We need YOUR help! Together we can give a second life to all single use plastic!!

We are launching this campaign during Recycle Week 2017 (September 25th – 30th) and are raising awareness about the importance of recycling and reusing plastic. With the help of a number of schools and organisations across the UK, we will determine how many plastic milk bottles their schools, homes, and businesses are using and how much carbon emissions could be saved if these bottles were given a second life.

Why is this important? The growing levels of plastic in our oceans and lack of proper recycling for this waste is unsustainable and causing real damage to our environment. As a community, we need to demand change and show our government and corporations that we want more recycled content in our packaging. By using recycled instead of virgin plastics, carbon emissions are reduced by 70% while also preventing additional plastic from being dumped in landfills and oceans or burned – it’s a win-win!

Please visit our Calculator page to find out more about the impact using recycled plastic can make and to calculate your schools, homes or businesses potential difference. For ideas on what to do with your collected milk bottles and newfound data, see our Schools page (we will even be giving away prizes!).

Don’t forget to take the Pledge so we can tally and show the government that the consumers want to see more recycled material in our packaging and less in our oceans!!
